She's 3!

I can't believe it! My Kyla turned 3 this past Thursday! She is getting so big, and has so many big changes this past year. She became a big sister, got her first haircut, and learned how to use the big girl potty! It's amazing how fast the time goes by. But I love her more and more every day.
The morning started out with a bowl of her favorite cereal (Cinnamon Toast Crunch). I wanted to make her eggs and toast, or pancakes even, but no. She wanted cereal. And what the birthday girl wants, she gets!
Then for dinner, we ate the Old Spagetti Factory in Trolley Square. She wore her birthday crown all day, but took it off when we sang happy birthday to her. She got a scoop of Spamoni Ice Cream with a candle in it. When we sang happy birthday to her, there was a table next to us with a bunch of people, and they (along with the other waitstaff) sang with us. It was neat!
Then for the activity that night, we went to the Hollywood Connection down in Sandy, and played a round of Mini Golf. It was Kyla's first time, and she had a blast! She putted the ball into the hole every singe time, and I think managed to get 20 over par on every hole as well.
KD and Kyla wanted to sit on this dinosaur, and I thought it was a perfect picture opportunity. Unfortunately the lighting in the place was not the greatest.
And here's Jason and I with our birthday girl. Oh, how we love her! We cannot count the ways, there are way too many!!

Kamryn's Favorite

One of Kamryn's favorite things to do is "unload". Doesn't matter what it is: toys, laundry, art supplies. If it's in a box, she'll find some way to unload it.
These toys taste pretty good, apparently.
What? No More?
Awww!
All Done! Now I have to put them all back in so she can do it all over again. So Fun!

A Friendly Game

Friday, November 12, 2010

Oh, what to do on a Sunday Afternoon?

How about a friendly game of Crossbows and Catapults? For some reason, KD really wanted to play this after church last week, and Jason was more than happy to oblige.

Kyla love yelling "Fire!", and then shooting a catapult, or one of the crossbows. She really got into it.
KD was the strategist. She took dad's lead and aimed at all of Jason's important spots.

They had such a fun time, as you can see by the video above!

Kamryn's Time Out

Kamryn was being a pill and was following me everywhere I went in the kitchen. I almost tripped over her a couple of times! So, being a little desperate but not wanting to put her in her crib, I thought of this solution:

Apparently it was the right choice. She loved it!

Halloween Cupcakes

A couple of days before halloween the girls and I made cupcakes to deliver to some friends and neighbors of ours. They had a lot of fun, and hey! We all matched!!

We had a lot of fun! Of course, the girls ate so many that the number we were going to deliver kept getting smaller and smaller, but that's ok. It just meant that they were good!

She's Mobile!

Cuter than Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather!

The girls are all fairies this year for halloween, and I gotta say, I don't think I've ever seen fairies as cute as these. KD wanted to be a fairy after watching the movie "Tinkerbell and the Great Fiary Rescue". Kyla and Kaitlyn's skirts my mom had made from a gal she knows, we've had them for a while. So I made Kamryn's skirt to match, I made their headbands, got their wings from Walmart, added a litte face paint, and viola! Adorable!!

If any of you are familiar with the Tinkerbell movies, KD is Silvermist the Water Fairy...

Kyla is Rosetta, the Garden Fairy...
And Kamryn is supposed to be Iridessa, the Light Fairy.

Welcome to Pixie Hollow!

Black Island Farm

Last week Kyla, Kamryn and I went to Black Island Farm with Megan, Kasey, and some other women from their stake. It was so much fun! I had gone there the week before for our YW/YM activity, where we did the corn mazes. This trip we took a hayride through the farm and landed at a pumpkin patch, where the kids got to look around and choose their own pumpkin. Then after we looked at the animals, went down the slides (which were so much fun), and got to see some pig races. Yes, you read correctly...pig races. It was so cute! We had such a good time, we'll definitely be going there again next year! Here we are at the start. Kamryn does not look excited.
I wanted a shot of Kyla in front of the pumpkins. And even though she whined almost the whole time, I did get this cute shot of her.

Here we are the pumpkin patch. Yes the pumpkins are still growing and connected to the ground. When Kyla found the one she wanted, we held up our hands, and a really nice guy came and cut it off, cleaned it off, and got rid of pricklies on the stem.

Here's Kyla with the winner! We went through quite a few before she found the right one for her. She's so proud!

And then here are three of the cutest kids on the planet! We had so much fun, and Kyla even got to eat a freshly dug carrot (dirt and all). She said the dirt was really good. So cute!

Starting Early

Yeah, we start them young in this house. But hey, we want her to get ahead in this world right?

Singin' in the Rain!

The other day it was cloudy, a little cool, and drizzling lightly (in other words, a perfect day). Kyla wanted to go outside to play, and I told her to hang on so I could get her coat and umbrella. Well, then Kamryn got fussy and I had to go and change her. When I got done, Kyla was nowhere in the house and the front door was open. I looked outside and this is what I saw:
She was just sitting at the end of our driveway with KD's umbrella. And singing! She was singing about how much she loves playing outside and how much she loves to sing. It was too cute! She's my little sweetheart. A little quirky, snotty at times, and the cutest thing ever!

My Teddy

A couple of years ago for Christmas, my dad got KD this Teddy Ruxpin. She LOVED it! She played with it all the time.....until the batteries died. Then I didn't replace them for a while and she lost interest. But then I finally thought to replace the batteries and now, Kyla loves it! She loves it when Teddy asks a question and she answers it. It's so cute to watch her drag Teddy around and then sit down and read together. They make a cute pair!

Those Eyes!

Oh...my...goodnes! I don't think i've ever seen bigger or more beautiful eyes than my KD has. She's so gorgeous it's just not fair! I really don't know where she gets it from. It must be from her dad, because it's not from me! She's so beautiful, inside and out. I Love KD!!

My Chunk

She's such a goober. So cute! I think I love her thighs the most. Or maybe her belly. No, it's her smile. Oh heck, I love all of her!!

The Walk-a-Thon

AT KD's school, we only have 1 fund raiser for the entire school year. It's our annual walk-a-thon. For an entire hour in the morning, all the kids and all the faculty walk around the school. The entire week before, the kids collect money from family and friends who pledge a certain amount for their walk. And 100% of the proceeds go to the school. Anyway, the walk-a-thon is a pretty major thing and so much fun. We had the Weber State University cheerleaders and mascot there, along with their radio station DJing the entire walk.
The morning of the walk was cold, so I sent KD to school with her coat and a sweater. When I got to the school, however, I noticed that she wasn't wearing eitherm and was freezing. I had to run to her class and grab them for her. After she got walking for a while she got warm enough that she didn't need them.
Here's KD starting her first lap and walking past Waldo the Wildcat, WSU's mascot.

Here's KD and her friend Jaylynne. I think they were on thier 5th lap.

Here's Kd walking past the cheeleaders and getting high 5's from all of them. I walked with Kyla and Kamryn in the stroller, and the cheerleaders all thought Kyla was soo cute. Whenver we would get near them, the cheerleaders would call down the line "Here she comes!" and they would all rush to give her high 5's.
Here's a really cute shot of KD and her best friend Jaylynne with Waldo the wildcat. They had such a good time!!

KD and Kyla do the Macarena!

The last few 15 minutes of their walk-a-thon turned into a big dance party! My and a few of my more childlike adult friends were out on the grass with kids, dancing just as hard if not harder! It was a blast! Iwas reminded of why I love dancing so much!!

KD's first day of 1st Grade!

I can't believe my baby's in 1st grade already! She's getting so big. She's in full day now, and get's out at 3:05pm. She complains that it's too long, but I just think "Oh sweetie, this is only the beginning". She's lovin it though. Her teacher says that she a social butterfly, she get's in trouble sometimes for talking too much!
This is her in her first day outfit. She looked so cute! Oops, sorry KD. She looked way cool, not cute.
This is her and Zoe, a really good friend of hers. Luckily, she and both of her best friends are in the same class this year.

Sorry these next few are blurry. My camera sucks indoors. N-E-way, this KD at her desk. I got so excited when I saw that she had her own desk, with her laminated name tag on it. I'm such a geek!
And this is her in front of her class door. I know you can't see it, but she's pointing at her name. Her teacher, Mrs. Wardleigh, is so nice. And she works really hard with the kids. KD likes her a lot. We got the year off to a good start, I hope we can keep it going!!

Little Mommy

Kyla is such a little mother. She loves to help me with Kamryn, and whenever I'm busy with Kam, she's doing the same thing with her baby. When i'm feeding Kamryn, she feeds her baby. When we go for walks, she has to bring her baby in her little stroller. She's so cute. She's my Sweetheart!

Such a sweetie pie. And yes, her baby has no clothes on. We're still working on that.

KD's Tooth

KD lost her first tooth! It's been loose for awhile, but the other night she was eating fruit snacks, and one of them caught her tooth making it a LOT looser. Then the next morning she comes to me and says "Mom, my tooth is almost out" I said "Oh! Do you want me to get it for you?" "No. I can get it myself." And she reaches in her mouth, and yanks it out, all by herself Personally, i'm a little glad I didn't have to do it. It always made me queasy when I had to pull my own teeth out. I'm even queasy just thinking about it. But not KD. She rocks!
P.S-the little bag she's holding is the tooth bag she made. She decorated it, and then put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy to find. I also have it on good authority that the Tooth Fairy had a hard time deciding how much to give her for her tooth. Ms. Fairy wanted to give her a quarter, but her assistant wanted to be really generous and give her a whole dollar! They decided on $.50. An ok compromise.
